CARTHAGE, Mo.—Stratum Nutrition and ESM Technologies’ NEM eggshell membrane can rapidly reduce pain in patients with knee or hip osteoarthritis. (Journal of Arthritis. 2014 July. online. doi: 10,4172/216-7921.1000136)
The independent, multi-center clinical trial conducted in Germany by Weber & Weber GmbH and Co. KG included 44 participants with moderate, persistent knee or hip osteoarthritis. The participants were given a daily capsule containing 500 mg of NEM for 60 days, and they were surveyed at 10, 30 and 60 days using short questionnaires.
The researchers found statistically significant reductions in pain as early as 10 days, with almost a quarter of the participants feeling an improvement; by the end of the study, 59 percent of the participants rated NEM’s efficacy as good or very good. There were no serious adverse effects.
