Five-Day Cosmetic Course at UCLA
LOS ANGELES--A five-day course, Skin Care & Basic Ingredients: What They Are, How They Work and How They Benefit the Skin, is planned for March 19 to 23, 2001. Held at the Lindbrook Center of the University of California Los Angeles, this program will focus on the basic ingredients found in cosmetics, as well as ingredient trends. Key points include how antioxidants, AHAs, BHAs, vitamins, plant extracts and minerals affect the skin; legal definitions and labeling requirements of cosmetics and cosmeceuticals; and ingredients that target skin conditions related to stress, menopause and climate. "This course gives the non-chemist enough information to feel confident when discussing cosmetic ingredients with researchers, developers, suppliers or consumers," said Rebecca James Gadberry, the course's instructor.
