LA MIRADA, Calif.—HORN, a North American distributor of specialty ingredients, joined the Council for Responsible Nutrition (CRN) as a voting member.

“CRN is leading the charge in the stewardship for a responsible industry and HORN proudly supports their efforts now as a voting member," said Kevin Salerno, president, HORN Nutraceuticals. “Joining CRN as a voting member reinforces HORN’s commitment to upholding the highest of industry standards and expands our opportunities in serving the audiences we serve."

Xiaoming “Sandy" Chien, PhD, vice president of Innovative Products at HORN Nutraceuticals, was also named a member of CRN’s Senior Scientific Advisory Council. The council is comprised of highest ranking scientific officers from member companies who have volunteered to advise the CRN staff and board of directors on scientific issues. In addition to Chien’s appointment, Salerno joined the Regulatory Affairs Committee; Barbara Vice, business development manager, joined the Sports Nutrition Working Group; and Ella Pochay, marketing communication director, joined the Communications and Media Outreach Committee.

“We are very pleased to welcome HORN to the CRN family," said Steve Mister, CRN president and CEO. “It is rewarding to see that companies are continuing to recognize the benefits of CRN membership and we look forward to working with our new members to continue to strengthen a responsible industry."
