Food and Beverage Recalls: How it Works

Despite effort to prevent them, recalls in the food and beverage industry happen. Depending on the severity of the recall, different steps are taken in order to remove potentially hazardous product off the shelf.  FDA and USDA both have procedures that are followed in a recall situation. Identifying the problem and its hazard category are important steps to a proper recall.
