Study Finds ElevATP Stimulates ATP Production

<p>A new study found that elevATP from FutureCeuticals stimulated endogenous production of ATP in humans.</p>

A new study published in The Journal of Aging Research & Clinical Practice, found that elevATP from FutureCeuticals, Inc. stimulated endogenous production of ATP (Adenosine triphosphate) in humans (J Aging Res. 2014 [epub ahead of print]).

In the double blind, placebo-controlled, crossover study, elevATP was given in a single, 150 mg dose to resting participants who fasted overnight, for 12-16 hours. The results show an increased level of ATP in the blood, with average levels measuring 40 percent over baseline levels at 60 minutes and 28 percent at 120 minutes. ATP levels in cell free plasma and lactate levels were unchanged. The results suggest that elevATP supplementation may increase intracellular levels of ATP. This is the second study to find these results.

As a part of the study, a muscle biopsy was performed on one of the participants before and 60 and 120 minutes after ingestion of elevATP. The results of the biopsy found that the intramuscular ATP levels increased significantly, with levels than the increases of ATP measured in the whole body.
