Judi Quilici Timmcke will examine basic principles about insomnia and stress,
review the related brain neurotransmitters that are affected and how to evaluate
dietary supplements that can support relaxation and a restful sleep.
Speakers:
Greg Stephens, RD, Vice President of Strategic Consulting for the Natural
Marketing Institute (NMI), brings 25 years of specialized expertise in the
nutrition and pharmaceutical industries to NMI. His background includes sales,
marketing, strategic planning, clinical research and regulatory affairs for
companies such as Nurture Inc. and Ross Nutritional Products Division of Abbott
Laboratories. He received a bachelor’s degree in human nutrition from Georgia
State University and is a registered dietitian with the American Dietetic
Association. He is a frequent author of published articles and has spoken at
SupplySide, American Dietetic Association, American Healthcare Association and
many more industry events.
Judi Quilici Timmcke, M.S., holds a master’s degree in dietetics and exercise
physiology from the University of Northern Colorado and a bachelor’s degree from
the University of Wisconsin-Madison and is working on her doctorate degree. She
worked as a nutritionist for more than 12 years, including two and a half years
for the University of Colorado-Boulder’s Human Performance Lab. For Q-Tech, she
presently operates as a technical consultant/product formulator for companies in
the dietary supplement industry. She is a member of the American Dietetic
Association and the American Association of Nutritional Consultants and was an
appointed scientist for AMC Cancer Center in Denver, Colo. She also writes
nutrition articles for magazines, completed the book, New Nutrients Against
Cancer, and a second with Dr. Tom Slaga, called Calcium D-Glucarate.
She has instructed Physician CME and credited chiropractor courses on dietary
supplement research and has presented to the Jamaican Medical Association. In
2002, she wrote the Tae Bo® instructor manual and instructed at their
certification camps. She has worked for Weider Nutrition International as vice
president of research and product development for specialty markets and other
companies such as Rexall Showcase International and Amrion. She presently
formulates unique products for doctor, health food, mass, multi-level and direct
mail markets and is considered to be an expert in product labels. She has
secured for companies exclusive and patented ingredients. |
