Chris Chufo has been a senior analyst at SPINS for three years, focusing on the data analysis and business planning needs of supplement manufacturers and other vendors. Her background includes running four Whole Foods Market stores, as well as supplement buying for Whole Foods Market and Elephant Pharmacy.  Chufo offers a deep understanding of key industry trends and insight into successful brand management in the natural segment.

Najla Guthrie, an internationally recognized scientist in the field of nutrition and breast cancer, conducted research from 1988-2001 in the Centre for Human Nutrition, Department of Biochemistry, The University Of Western Ontario, London, ON, Canada, focusing on the anti-cancer effects of minor food components, flavonoids, limonoids and tocotrienols, in cell culture, animal models and clinical trials.  Having published over 28 papers in peer-reviewed journals, she has given numerous invited presentations at national and international meetings.  Her research demonstrating the anti-cancer properties of citrus juices and their constituent flavonoids continues to spark interest in both the scientific community and the media.  Since 1997 she has been President/CEO of KGK Synergize Inc., a biotechnology company which focuses on nutraceuticals and functional foods, where she has led and managed the Company's contract research business and recruited an integrated research and product development team that today maintains a reputation for world-class nutraceutical science.
