Probiotics are beneficial bacteria that bolster health when ingested by humans, and research shows they exert benefits including immune support and digestive health. Consumption of probiotics helps maintain a critical flora balance between various groups of bacteria in the intestine. This balance can be disrupted by stress, disease, antibiotics, unhealthy foods, lack of sleep and harmful environmental conditions.
