SALT LAKE CITY—The GOED Exchange 2012 conference opened registration this month with an agenda for those involved in the omega-3 space, featuring the "Chief Blogger" from the 2008 presidential campaign. Other topics the Exhange will cover include the dynamics of China, how to communicate with consumers and out-of-the-box marketing challenges.
Hosted by the Global Organization for EPA and DHA (GOED), the GOED Exchange 2012 conference takes place at the Marriott Long Wharf Hotel in Boston, June 6 to 8. The conference will feature a mix of scientific, marketing, regulatory and international perspectives in the omega-3 market.
The GOED Exchange goes beyond the basics of the omega-3 industry, said Adam Ismail, GOED executive director, “ The 2012 event promises to offer fresh perspectives as well as some old favorites from the inaugural Exchange."
Specifically, the conference brings back the most popular sessions from the first GOED Exchange, including more founders of omega-3 research and innovative uses of eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) and docosahexaenoic acid (DHA). In addition, a featured speaker is Sam Graham-Felsen, leading emerging media strategist and "Narrator-in-Chief" for Obama’s 2008 Presidential Campaign, who will talk about the challenges of marketing to "millennials," a traditionally less-engaged demographic for omega-3 usage. Also in the works are speakers on how to combat negative marketing and a debate on safe intakes of omega-3s.
