CRN Adds Six Members

WASHINGTON—The Council for Responsible Nutrition (CRN) added six new members with the start of the new year. New voting members include Chr. Hansen Inc., Denmark; Cyvex Nutrition Inc., Irvine, CA; InterHealth Nutraceuticals Inc., Bencia, CA; Nature’s Gifts International Inc., Los Alamitos, CA; and Neptune Technologies & Bioressources Inc., Quebec City. Dicentra Inc., Toronto, joined CRN as an associate member.

Chr. Hansen develops of natural ingredient solutions for the food, pharmaceutical, nutritional and agricultural industries. With U.S. offices in Milwaukee, Chr. Hansen employs 2,300 people in 30 countries. In the U.S., the company is best known for its probiotics, dairy enzymes and natural colors.

 Cyvex, a subsidiary of nutritional ingredient company Omega Protein Corporation, supplies standardized and branded ingredients to the dietary supplement and food industries. The firm’s signature branded ingredients include Bio Vin (full-spectrum grape extract), Bio Vinca (vinpocetine), and Berry Vin (high-ORAC berries).

InterHealth manufactures, markets and distributes specialty and proprietary nutritional ingredients for use in dietary supplements, and nutraceutical foods and beverages. InterHealth focuses on providing products for cardiovascular health, blood sugar control, joint health and weight management.

Nature’s Gifts provides of vitamins and nutritional supplements made from high-quality ingredients that are sourced from raw materials and manufactured in state-of-the-art facilities.

In 2011, CRN added 10 new members: Joint Juice Inc. (voting), Jacobs Compliance Services (associate) and Nicholas Hall & Co. (associate) joined in January, International Vitamin Corporation (voting), Nutraceuticals International LLC (voting), NOW Foods (voting), Amin Talati LLC (associate) and Bent Creek Institute Inc. (associate) joined in March, and Nordic Naturals (voting) and Optimum Nutrition Inc. (voting) joined in September.
