OGDEN, Utah—The Natural Products Association (NPA) recertified Trace Minerals Research (TMR)'s GMPs (good manufacturing practices) with an “A" rating. TMR was recertified under the revised NPA Current GMP Standard for Dietary Supplements, which incorporates the FDA final cGMP rule [21 CFR 111]. This recertification ensures TMR's manufacturing process provides reasonable assurance that processes are sufficiently controlled so that products meet established specifications for quality, including identity, purity, strength and composition.
The NPA’s GMP certification exceeds the current FDA rule [21 CFR 111] with other specific requirements. The NPA also uses third-party auditors to conduct audits of supplier member manufacturing facilities. Auditors must be trained in the NPA GMP standards and performance rating system, and have the required education, experience and training to conduct on-site audits.
“Quality is one of our core principles at TMR, so we are once again very proud to be recertified cGMP by the NPA," said Ryan Fisher, general manager of TMR. “This is our eighth year of certification, and we couldn’t have done it without the commitment and unmatched diligence of our quality control staff. Our processes, procedures and facilities are ever-changing for the better in an effort to continually keep pace with the stringent guidelines set forth in the NPA GMP certification program."
