It is manufactured from marigold flowers exclusively for Unibar through a strategic alliance with Synthite Industries, one of the largest cultivators and manufacturers of marigold oleo resin in India. UniGold is available in 5- or 10-percent vegetarian beadlet and 20-percent vegetable oil suspension form. U.S.-manufactured by Encap Technology using a patent-pending encapsulation process that creates a protective, all-natural barrier around the lutein—shielding it from the acidic conditions of the stomach and allowing for timed-release in the alkaline environment of the small intestine.
UniGold, which is self-affirmed GRAS (generally recognized as safe), is protected by a U.S. process patent and manufactured in the U.S. It is also stable for 24 months, as verified by third-party laboratory testing.
