ELMWOOD PARK, N.J.—Nutraceuticals International Group launched a standardized 10-percent lychee extract from the fruit of the Litchi chinensis plant called LycheeBerri®. The edible portion of lychee fruit consists of a juicy, sweet pulp that is high in polyphenols, fiber, vitamin C, minerals and B complex vitamins. Studies suggest lychee fruit phenols have powerful antioxidant effects. While it can be challenging to preserve the active compounds and qualities of the berry during transportation, Nutraceuticals International’s partner uses a proprietary manufacturing process in the field to standardize the berries using a non-toxic method.
