MIAMI and CHICAGO–The law firm of Arnstein & Lehr LLP created a Food, Beverage and Nutrition (FBN) Practice Group, made up of a multi-state team of attorneys representing manufacturers, distributors and sellers of food, beverage and nutritional products. The firm can counsel these clients in a range of legal areas from labor and employment to intellectual property, corporate finance and securities to mergers and acquisitions, bankruptcy and restructuring to regulatory compliance and governmental affairs.

In connection with the formation of this new practice group, the firm has relaunched the Food, Beverage and Nutrition Law Blog with new branding and content.  For many years the blog, previously known as the Nutritional and Dietary Supplement Law Blog, has kept readers up to date on legal and regulatory developments effecting the dietary supplement and functional food industries.  With a new look and expanded scope, the Food, Beverage & Nutrition Law Blog will offer updates on important legal and business developments that concern the full range of businesses served by the new practice group.

The Arnstein & Lehr FBM Practice Group will be co-chaired by partners Joel B. Rothman of the firm’s West Palm Beach office and Erik L. Kantz of the firm’s Chicago office.  Rothman’s practice focuses on intellectual property counseling and litigation, with a particular emphasis on FDA and FTC regulatory issues.  Kantz represents corporate clients in transactions, mergers and acquisitions.

“We expect innovative companies to continue to drive growth in the food, beverage and nutritional products segments," Kantz said.  “Therefore, it made sense to form this practice group to raise awareness of Arnstein’s unique capabilities and experience in this industry."

In addition to Rothman and Kantz, the members of the FBN group include Miami partners Randall L. Sidlosca (immigration law), George P. Apostolides (bankruptcy & business litigation) and Chicago partners Howard M. Berrington (corporate, and mergers and acquisitions), Judith L. Grubner (intellectual property), Michelle G. Novick (bankruptcy and creditors’ rights), Mark Spognardi (labor and employment) and E. Jason Tremblay (labor and employment).

Arnstein & Lehr already represents a number of food manufacturers and ingredient producers, dietary supplement manufacturers and marketers, meat and produce importing and distribution companies, organic ingredient and produce distributors, restaurants, food brokers and food processors.
