BEIJING—The 3rd Annual China Natural Ingredients Conference (CNIC), organized by the China Chamber of Commerce for Import & Export of Medicines & Health Products (CCCMHPIE) and Herbridge.com, will take place here Oct. 27 and 28, 2011. Among the topics to be addressed during the conference are the U.S. FDA’s draft guidance on new dietary ingredients (NDIs); GMP (good manufacturing practice) and quality certifications for Chinese herbal suppliers; domestic and global herbal consumption; preservation of China’s medicinal plant resources; water-soluble extracting technology and more. The two previous CNIC events attracted more than 300 government leaders and industry stakeholders.
Jeff Crowther, the executive director of the U.S.-China Health Products Association (US-China HPA), will talk on the NDI draft guidance, as well as the overall regulatory and market environment for dietary supplements in the United States. US-China HPA is a U.S.-based non-profit association, established in July 2010 with a mission of working toward a more open regulatory environment in China that would help increase U.S. natural health product exports to China and help create a safer and more transparent supply chain.
