TUSTIN, Calif.—Vita-Tech International Inc. donated 12 tons of fresh-dated multi-minerals to Direct Relief International to support DRI’s work in Honduras. The calcium/magnesium/zinc supplements will be distributed to pregnant and nursing women through DRI’s maternal and child health programs. Vita-Tech coordinated with Global Medical Brigades’ University of California, Santa Barbara, chapter on the donation.
Vita-Tech has been quite active in supplying nutritional products to global aid organizations, with this donation bringing the total to more than 17 tons of supplements donated in the past 24 months. Most recently, in September 2010, Vita-Tech donated 3.5 tons of multivitamins to The Lyceum Group to be distributed in West Africa. “We know mother/child health is key to a more successful world future," said Thomas T. Tierney, president of Vita-Tech. “We empower people to take charge of their own health so that they can take control of their future. Our most important goal is improving people’s lives."
