BANGALORE, India—Avesthagen introduced AvestaDHA™, a vegetarian source of docosahexaenoic (DHA) omega-3 essential fatty acid (EFA) based on an approach using naturally occurring microalgae. The company's technology allows commercial production of high-quality, 100-percent vegetarian AvestaDHA. A Schizochytrium linacinum strain SC-1 was developed by Avesthagen for producing vegetarian DHA through fermentation. The patented technology has been scaled up and validated for commercialization.
