CHINO, Calif.—Fenchem launched a series of healthy ingredients dedicated for energy drinks. Included in the range of ingredients are NeuVia™ stevia extract, Ginktone™ ginko extract, GinStar™ ginseng extract, vitamin B series, G-Tea™ green tea extract, L-carnitine, and antioxidants such as vitamins A, C and E.

Stevia, the ingredient in NeuVia, is a natural sweetener with a low glycemic index. Natural zero-calorie sweeteners like stevia-derived sweeteners are seen as attractive alternatives for health benefits of energy drinks. Ginko biloba, the ingredient in Ginktone,  is an herb that has been shown to help with memory retention, concentrations and blood circulation. Ginseng extract, the key ingredient in GinStar, has been shown to increase energy and alleviate stress. Green tea extract, the ingredient in G-Tea, has been shown to help stimulate certain neurotransmitters that signal the body to increase energy expenditure. In addition, the active ingredient (EGCG) in green tea is one of nature’s most powerful antioxidants.

B vitamins are essential for the metabolism of carbohydrates and fat into energy. B vitamins consist of essential vitamins important for many physiological and metabolic functions such as riboflavin (vitamin B12), niacin (vitamin B3), pyridoxine hydrochloride (vitamin B6) and cyanocobalamin (vitamin B12). The use of antioxidants in energy drinks is common. Vitamins A, C and E are all antioxidants that not only help the body resist free radical damage, but also speed up the recovery process of the body after any damage through illness. Additionally, L-carnitine is a nutrient that helps speed up metabolism, thus improving energy levels and enhancing the endurance of the body.
