COLUMBUS, Ohio—The National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) is hosting the event “Performance Nutrition Symposium: Bridging the Gap between the Laboratory and the Field" on Oct. 1 to 2 in Columbus, Ohio. Sponsored by EAS, the two-day event will include classroom sessions and roundtable discussions about current research in the area of performance nutrition, exercise recovery and supplementation.
The session on the use of nutritional supplementation in performance will include talks about muscle buffering and carnosine; HMB and lean body mass; novel nutraceutical compounds; and structured lipids as a novel energy source. Other speakers will address vitamin and mineral deficiency in athletes; protein timing and type; immune support; and the role of carbohydrates in performance nutrition.
