LOWELL, Mass.—Howard Schiffer, president and founder of Vitamin Angels, was on hand at the Lowell Summer Music Series Aug. 20 to receive a Certificate of Special Congressional Recognition from the office of Rep. Niki Tsongas (D-Mass.). The charitable organization was recognized for “all the hard work and dedication your organization has displayed, in providing children all over the world with the necessary nutrients to live a long and meaningful life."
Schiffer said he was “honored to receive this award in recognition of our work to help better the lives of children in the U.S. and around the world." An enthusiastic crowd greeted Vitamin Angels, an honorary guest for the event, with cheers and applause before enjoying a concert featuring the rock band the B-52’s.
