BLOOMINGDALE, Ill.--NOW Foods was again honored by the National Association for Business Resources (NABR) as one of Chicago’s 101 Best and Brightest Companies to Work For; the nutraceutical firm was similarly lauded in 2009 and 2008. NABR recognizes companies that create business values and results through human resource (HR) policies and practices, holding employees as their greatest asset. Criteria include company communication, community initiatives, compensation, diversity, employee development, recruitment and work-life balance.

Al Powers, president, NOW Foods, stated, “I am very pleased that NOW is again named one of the 101 best and brightest companies to work for in Chicagoland. This award recognizes that our employees are important stakeholders who are passionately engaged in achieving our mission to provide value in products and services that empower people to lead healthier lives. NOW is the leading brand of nutritional supplements sold in health food stores…and it is our employees who have made it possible."

In fact, employees at nominated companies are a key part of the process, completing confidential surveys about their work environment; the surveys are among the qualitative and quantitative data used by the independent panel of judges. Founded by Elwood Richard in 1968, NOW has grown from a small, family operation, to a highly respected manufacturer of natural health products, manufacturing and distributing more than 1,500 dietary supplements, natural foods, sports nutrition and personal care products. The company has more than 400 employees and its products are sold in more than 60 countries.
