AVIGNON, France—Naturex released financials for the second quarter of 2010 (2Q10), with significant increases in revenues and sales even before the incremental gains associated with the ongoing integration of the Natraceutical ingredients division. Revenues for the second quarter hit €61.2 million (US$79.7 million), up 127 percent in consolidated figures. Like-for-like, sales for 2Q10 were up 28.1 percent from the proforma €47.7 million (US$62.1 million) in 2Q09.

While the company plans to publish the audited results for the first half of 2010 on Aug. 31, it did provide some insight into the growth patterns for the period, with revenues of €112.8 million (US$147 million)—twice the figure generated in the first six months of 2009. Jacques Dikansky, president, CEO and founder of Naturex, commented: “This excellent start to the year has strengthened our position as the world leader in specialty plan-based ingredients—a sector with strong market potential that is set to stay. Thanks to the investment we devote to research and development, our ability to step up the development of products with a high value-added is an invaluable asset that will continue to ensure our long-term growth."

The growth was seen across all of the company’s platforms and geographic areas. Food & Beverage accounts for 59.7 percent of group sales, Nutrition & Health with 34.0 percent and Personal Care bringing in 1.1 percent. The majority of sales are coming in from Europe and Africa (54.0 percent), followed by North and South America (35.9 percent) and Asia/Pacific (10.1 percent).
