MELVILLE, N.Y.—U.S. Commerce Secretary Gary Locke presented Natural Organics Inc. with a 2010 Presidential "E" Award. Created in 1961 by President John F. Kennedy, the Presidential "E" Award is given to companies and organizations that contribute significantly to U.S. exports, strengthen the U.S. economy, and create American jobs. As one of 10 companies to receive the 2010 Presidential "E" Award, Natural Organics, which manufactures the Nature's Plus line of nutritional supplements, has been recognized with the highest U.S. government honor for increasing exports.
"Today, we honor companies that are selling high-quality products and services in every corner of the world, and most importantly, helping to create good jobs for American workers," Secretary Locke said as he presented the award.
"It is an honor to be recognized for providing superior-quality supplements to health-conscious consumers around the globe," commented Natural Organics president James Gibbons. "It is equally gratifying to promote economic progress by creating jobs for hardworking Americans, all while enhancing energy, well-being, and quality of life for millions worldwide with our industry-leading nutritional supplements. All of these achievements are thanks to our outstanding workforce, which ensures quality in all that we do, every single day."
Added Natural Organics CEO Gerald Kessler: "In the big picture, the Presidential 'E' Award is yet another testament to Nature's Plus' industry-leading quality and trailblazing nutritional innovation. Nature's Plus has been leading the natural products industry for over 30 years in the United States. The 'E' award shows that our reputation for excellence also precedes us on a global level."
