PTO Issues POMELLA Patent

NOBLESVILLE, Ind.—The U.S. Patent and Trademark Office issued a patent (No. 7,638,640), “Purifications of Pomegranate Ellagitannins and Their Uses,” covering novel compositions and uses for pomegranate ellagitannins, particularly the punicalagins. The patent was issued to the Regents of the University of California and is based on inventions by scientists at UCLA. Verdure Sciences is supplying its POMELLA® Pomegranate Extract under the patent.
