WASHINGTON— FTC upheld its original decision finding Daniel Chapter One made unsubstantiated cancer-related claims for its dietary supplements. In its final order, the Commission prohibited the company or its officer from advertising that its dietary supplements BioShark, 7 Herb Formula, GDU and BioMixx prevent, treat or cure cancer, or that they lessen the effects of chemotherapy. In addition, the company must send a letter to all consumers who purchased the products notifying them of FTC’s decision regarding the unsubstantiated claims.

A statement on the Daniel Chapter One Web site, dated Dec. 3, 2009, stated if FTC ruled against the company, it would plan to move forward to the Court of Appeals.
