The effects of regular aerobic exercise and dietary supplements in the preservation of muscle mass and function in people 65 and older will be tested thanks to a five-year, $2.05 million grant from the National Institute of Aging to University of Texas Medical Branch researchers, The Galveston County Daily News reported. The study will take place over six months with more than 100 participants divided into four groups “to test the effects of essential amino acid supplements and moderate supervised aerobic exercise, alone and in combination, on muscle mass and function.”
