THE WOODLANDS, Texas—ZMC-USA LLC announced its parent company, Zheijiang Medicine Co. Ltd. Xinchang Pharmaceutical Factory, was issued a new U.S. patent (No. 7,271,298), “Process for isolation and purification of Xanthophyll crystals from plant oleoresin.” The patent details a simultaneous process for isolation and purification of the xanthophyll carotenoids lutein and zeaxanthin from crude plant oleoresin; it will allow for efficient, quality production of lutein in pure, powder, beadlet and oil suspension and lutein ester in powder, beadlet and oil suspension.
