LUND, Sweden—Probi signed two distribution agreements to expand sales of its probiotic dietary supplements in Eastern Europe. The first, signed with Sanum Polska Ltd., gives the company the right to sell a Probi dietary supplement in the Polish market. The product is based on Probi’s Lp299v bacteria and will be launched during autumn 2008. “Probi is now working in parallel with Institut Rosell to extend the reach of Lp299v food supplements and we are very pleased that this strategy is working,” said Michael Oredsson, CEO, Probi. “We offer clinically documented consumer products addressing specific health concerns and are getting a strong response on the international market. Sanum Polska has a proven track record and has successfully introduced more than 40 products on the Polish market. Its network of 3,000 doctors and pharmacists will guarantee fast and efficient penetration of a very significant market.” Sanum Polska Ltd. is part of the German company Sanum Kehlbeck GmbH & CO.KG, an international natural remedies company, and markets scientifically proven natural remedies through the Polish pharmacy channel. The company drives the expanding Polish market of indication specific natural remedies and dietary supplements. The second distribution agreement was signed with Proton System, a Serbian pharmaceutical company. The agreement gives Proton System the right to sell a Probi supplement in Serbia, Montenegro, Croatia, Macedonia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Albania, Slovenia and Hungary. Proton System is a progressive pharmaceutical company with presence in countries of the Balkan region and in central Europe. The company’s portfolio includes leading brands and products in a number of health fields. Proton System works together with a network of leading wholesalers and pharmacies. With these agreements, dietary supplements based on Probi’s probiotics are sold or in the process of being launched in 25 countries.
