Huber Preps for SupplySide West

09/22/2008

ATLANTA—Huber Engineered Materials (HEM), part of J.M. Huber Corp., will showcase the expanded processing capabilities of its Modesto, Calif., nutritional ingredients manufacturing facility at the SupplySide West trade show (Booth #17077). Huber purchased the facility in 2006. “The Modesto facility is a key to our long-term business strategy and success, and we are looking forward to discussing its capabilities at SupplySide West,” said Minas Apelian, Ph.D., vice president and general manager for Huber’s Health and Nutrition business. “The fluid bed granulation, blending and packaging capabilities at Modesto positions Huber for the vitamin and mineral pre-mix business and a variety of innovative formulation and packaging opportunities.”

Huber recently consolidated its Benicia, Calif., manufacturing assets to the 70,000-square-foot Modesto facility, which has resulted in a nutritional ingredients processing operation for specialty granulations, custom granulations and blends, triturations and contract manufacturing. The company also operates processing facilities in the health and nutrition area in Havre de Grade, Md.; Quincy, Ill.; and Etowah, Tenn.

“The dietary supplements market is a key focus, as we see a tremendous growth opportunity with our manufacturing capabilities, quality assurance and outstanding customer service,” Apelian said. “In addition to our focus on dietary supplements and processed nutritional ingredients, we offer custom processing of ingredients or development of the complete formula at our Modesto facility.”
