Feds Find More Misbranded Sex Products

11/15/2007
FARMINGDALE, N.Y.— Federal officials arrested two individuals connected to a sexual dysfunctional product marketed in the United States as a natural, herbal remedy, but which actually contained pharmaceutical chemicals. According to FDA, Yvonne Zhang, head of Greenvalley, a Farmingdale-based company that manufactured Vigor-25 by combining herbs with a generic version of Viagra or similar compounds, and Michael Peng, president of V. Vigor Corp., which marketed Vigor-25 to health food stores and small stores in ethnic neighborhoods, were arrested separately. Officials alleged Vigor-25 was promoted as natural, but contained the generic version of the chemical in Viagra, smuggled in from China. Both defendants are out on bail, pending trials; they each face up to three years in prison if convicted.
