CRN Announces Conference Keynoters

WASHINGTON—The Council for Responsible Nutrition (CRN) announced the two keynote speakers for its 2008 conference, set for Oct. 2 to 5. David W.K. Acheson, M.D., and Josephine P. Briggs, M.D., will deliver presentations during the opening session on Friday, Oct. 3.

Acheson serves as the associate commissioner for foods under the Office of the Commissioner at FDA; his presentation will focus on the agency’s efforts to protect the nation’s food supply in a global economic environment. Briggs, the new director at the National Center for Complementary and Alternative Medicine (NCCAM), will outline her vision for the future of NCCAM and explore how the study of complementary and alternative medicine (CAM) fits in the context of rigorous science.

Registration for the conference is now open online; the price is $1,695 for non-CRN members, with a $200 discount for CRN members. The event is being held at the Hyatt Regency Tamaya Resort & Spa in Santa Ana Pueblo, N.M., approximately 30 minutes outside of Albuquerque. This year’s CRN conference coincides with the Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta.
