Cognis Raises Prices on E, Sterols

LA GRANGE, Ill.—Cognis increased prices on its natural-source vitamin E and natural plant sterol products, effective in June for North American customers. The price increase, the first for the ingredients in six years, applies to Vegapure® plant sterols and sterol esters; and Covitol® natural-source vitamin E and Covi-ox® natural mixed tocopherols, as well as the identity-preserved (IP) certified forms of these two ingredients. Cognis attributed the price increases to escalating raw material and energy costs.
