Virgo, CRN Offering Supply Chain Integrity Webinar
01/03/2008
WASHINGTON— The Council for Responsible Nutrition (CRN) and Virgo Publishing will host a Webinar, “Ensuring the Integrity of the Supply Chain,” on Tuesday, Feb. 19, from 2 to 4:30 p.m., EST. This is the second Webinar produced by CRN and Virgo; the first, available for purchase on demand here, centered on the general aspects of the final GMP (good manufacturing practice) rule. The Feb. 19 event will take a more focused approach, looking at specific tools for managing the supply chain and practical approaches to help address safety concerns and ensure GMP compliance. “This Webinar will offer companies the chance to avoid mistakes other companies have made and learn how to put ‘best practices’ into effect when it comes to protecting the integrity of the supply chain through proper raw material vendor qualification and appropriate quality agreements,” said Andrew Shao, Ph.D., vice president, scientific and regulatory affairs, CRN. “We received quite a bit of positive feedback following our first Webinar, with many participants urging us to hold another that would be of interest for regulatory executives. Apparently, the opportunity to learn from colleagues and interact with FDA was an invaluable experience for many of these folks, and we believe this time there will be even more explicit advice offered.” Shao will join other regulatory experts including Dallas Wait, Ph.D., principal, Gradient Corp.; Debbie Trinker, vice president of regulatory affairs, Kemin Health, L.C.; Michael Bradley, director of nutritional scientific affairs, Perrigo Co.; and Alexa Smith, International Pharmaceutical Excipients Council (IPEC). In addition, a representative from FDA is expected to participate. “Through its Nutrilearn.com business portal, Virgo has earned a strong reputation for producing high quality, value-added Webinars,” said Jon Benninger, director of business development, Virgo Publishing. “We’re pleased to once again have the opportunity to partner with CRN to make these speakers and this important agenda available to the industry.” Registration fees are $250 for CRN members and $450 for non-CRN members. Each registration fee provides access from one log-on location; however, companies can choose to have as many participants as desired in the room participating in the Webinar. The audio portion of the Webinar can be accessed through the internet or by phone. The registration fee also includes unlimited access to the on-demand recording of the Webinar for one year. Further details on the speakers, agenda and registration information are available online (Nutrilearn.com/gmpwebinar/webinar2_08.html).
