American Ingredients Taps New President, VP Business Development
09/18/2000
ANAHEIM, Calif.-Howard Simon, former COO of Global Health Sciences, was named president of American Ingredients earlier this summer following the retirement of American Ingredients' founder, Art Salerno. Global Health Sciences purchased American Ingredients from Salerno in December 1998; part of the agreement kept Salerno in his position through June 2000.
Simon's experience in the industry extends back to 1973, when he spent nine years with Banner Pharmacaps. He joined Global Health Sciences in June 1998 after 17 years in the cosmetics manufacturing industry.
In another executive change, Wolfe Aulenbacher joined American Ingredients at the end of August as vice president of business development, replacing Brian Salerno. Aulenbacher was the vice president of sales and marketing for East Earth Herbs before it was acquired by Folexco.
Simon said it continues to be business as usual at American Ingredients, which is one of the leading suppliers of raw materials. The company is planning to introduce its executive team to the industry at October's SupplySide West show. For more information on American Ingredients, visit www.american-ingredients.com.
