SANTA FE SPRINGS, Calif.—DNP International named Page Li as its new chemical analysis engineer in its Shanghai office. With his support, DNP will expand its efforts on quality control by adding its own laboratory testing in house.

“The purpose of the in-house lab is to further strengthen our ability on quality control and to avoid any quality issues for our customers in the cGMP (current good manufacturing practice) environment," noted David Ji, president of DNP International. “Mr. Li’s experience in lab engineering will certainly make it happen earlier, and we will soon start to test mesh size and bulk density using our in house lab."

Li received his Master’s degree in applied chemistry and has more than 10 years of experience with chemistry in manufacturing factories. Before joining DNP International, Li had been research and development supervisor at Axus Stationary Company,  as well as been employed as a chemical engineer at Oerikon Co. and Shanghai Aowei Technology.

DNP also plans to test heavy metals and microbiology by the end of the year. Starting January 2012, DNP will expand the test items to assay, identification, loss on drying and residue on ignition as the second step. Eventually, testing all the items and having 100-percent control of the quality for shipment from China.

In July, DNP reported its sales increased 26 percent from January to June 2011.
