PTI Hires Preston Wright to Direct QC

ROYSTON, Ga.—Preston Wright will direct Pharma Tech Industries (PTI)’s  corporate quality system as its new senior director of quality. In this role, Wright will oversee quality assurance, quality control and quality operations at the company’s two contract manufacturing plants in Royston, GA, and Union, MS, which together produce more than 300 SKUs of powders, effervescent and solid-dose products.

Wright’s responsibilities will include designing and executing corporate-level quality policies and procedures, as well as implementing quality improvement plans consistent with a multifaceted manufacturing environment.

Wright has more than 35 years of experience, including more than two decades in a managerial role.  His background includes quality services director positions at Morton Group Pharmaceuticals in Morton Grove, IL, and ANI Pharmaceuticals Inc. in Gulfport, MS, as well as an associate director of quality services role with ELAN Holdings in Gainesville, GA.

Wright has twice earned the President’s Award for Technical Achievement in Analytical Technology. he earned a bachelor’s of science degree from Maryville University in St. Louis.

At its Royston plant, PTI recently completed construction of a clean room dedicated to pouch filling of powder-based products. The room was built specifically to house the new Oystar Jones Adjustable Pouch King®, a high-speed packaging machine.
