BASF’s Samy Jandali Joins CRN’s Board of Directors
FLORHAM PARK, N.J.—Samy Jandali, vice president, nutrition and health, BASF Corporation, was appointed to the Council for Responsible Nutrition’s (CRN) board of directors and The CRN Foundation, the educational non-profit affiliate of the Council. Jandali said he looks forward to helping CRN foster universal acceptance of dietary supplements as a primary choice for consumers to support good health.
CRN, founded in 1973 and based in Washington, is a trade association representing dietary supplement manufacturers and ingredient suppliers. In addition to complying with a host of federal and state regulations governing dietary supplements in the areas of manufacturing, marketing, quality control and safety, its manufacturer and supplier members also agree to adhere to additional voluntary guidelines, as well as CRN’s Code of Ethics.
Jandali heads BASF’s one-year-old nutrition and health division in North America, which includes four global business units: human nutrition, animal nutrition, aroma chemicals and pharmaceutical ingredients and services. Following the recent acquisition, BASF and Cognis have joined forces in the human nutrition arena to offer food, beverage and dietary supplement companies an expanded portfolio of health ingredients and concepts.
