Aker BioMarine Adds to U.S. Marketing Presence
OSLO, Norway—Aker BioMarine Antarctic US Inc. added two new staff members who will concentrate on the North American market. Eric Anderson was named vice president of sales and marketing and Todd Norton was appointed to vice president of new business development.
Anderson was formally Brands Manger at PL Thomas, and Norton was chief operating officer at AM Todd Botanicals.
According to Aker BioMarine Antartic US president Matts Johansen, "Todd and Eric are excellent additions to our team. Their experience in all facets of the natural products industry, including regulatory, sales and promotion, will really help differentiate Superba Krill and build additional sales.
Anderson and Norton are tasked with the responsibility to educate the natural products industry and consumers on the unique health benefits of krill and Aker's unique Eco-Harvesting™ practices.
Krill oil is a good source of marine omega-3 fatty acids. The EPA and DHA from krill is present in the phospholipid form, which provides unique benefits compared to triglyceride fatty acids. Superba Krill® Oil is also tolerable and free of repeating or "fishy burps."
"Aker has invested significantly in in vivo and human research to help substantiate the safety and efficacy of our Superba Krill brand," Johansen said. “These studies are now publishing and being presented, granting us additional resources in the effort to promote Krill products."
Superba Krill is a pure, natural source of the health-promoting EPA and DHA omega-3 essential fatty acids and the naturally occurring antioxidant astaxanthin. In vitro, in vivo and human clinical research has demonstrated the safety and efficacy of Superba Krill.
Aker BioMarine is an integrated biotechnology company dedicated to the sustainable harvesting of krill and development of krill-derived biotech products. The company supplies biomarine ingredients through an optimized value chain from raw materials to customers. Aker BioMarine's Superba Krill products are provided with 100-percent traceability from the Antarctic sea to the end user. Only Aker's krill fishery has been awarded Marine Stewardship Council (MSC) Certification.
