Hurst Joins NPA to Support Regionals
WASHINGTON–The Natural Products Association (NPA) hired Elizabeth W. Hurst to fill the newly created position of state government relations manager. She will monitor state and local policy proposals that could affect the natural products industry, and work with the NPA regional organizations on an effective response.
“The most important role of our organizations is advocacy,” said John Gay, NPA executive director and CEO. “Bad ideas that are enacted in one state can spread to others, and Elizabeth will be addressing that threat in her new position, making both the regional NPAs and the national organization even better-positioned to represent our members.”
Hurst worked previously as a senior government relations specialist with the National Court Reporters Association, where she identified and tracked legislation that impacted the association’s members, managed the association’s political action committee (PAC) and fundraisers, and produced educational publications and other materials. She also worked for Denny Miller Associates, a lobbying firm, and served as an intern for Senator Saxby Chambliss of Georgia.
