Burdock Group Expands Personnel

Burdock Group, a provider of safety and regulatory services to food, dietary supplement, personal care and pet food/animal feed manufacturers, expanded its management team with the addition of Loren A. Brown, associate director of business development; and hired Nancy J. Szabo, Ph.D., as a staff toxicologist.

Loren’s primary focus will be to increase the level of awareness of Burdock Group capabilities to new and existing clients. Prior to joining Burdock Group, Brown was the director of business development for The Pinnacle Companies (TPC), which was acquired by a NYSE company prior to the acquisition TPC was a “family” of financial service companies with more than 440 loan officers, and 133 branches in 26 states.

Prior to joining Burdock Group, Szabo was director for the Analytical Toxicology Core Laboratory at the University of Florida in Gainesville, where she addressed research and consulting needs in the areas of human, veterinary, and environmental forensics and environmental, agricultural and biomedical sciences for on-campus researchers and off-campus clients. She was also a research assistant professor in the Department of Physiological Sciences of the College of Veterinary Medicine. She has 40 publications in scientific journals and has co-authored two book chapters. Szabo is a member of the American Chemical Society and the Chemical Heritage Foundation.
