Kyowa Hakko USA Hires President, CEO

Toshikazu Kamiya, Ph.D., formerly director of Kyowa Hakko Bio, Healthcare Products Development Center in Tsukuba, Japan, joined Kyowa Hakko USA as president and chief executive officer. Since 1997, Kamiya has been the head of the Nutraceuticals Research Group devoting himself to health care research to clarify how amino acids and other nutritional molecules relate to aging, diseases, skin disorders, obesity and other health issues. He received his Ph.D. in agricultural chemistry from the University of Tokyo and has worked on pharmaceutical and nutraceutical research for more than 20 years at Kyowa Hakko Bio Co. Ltd. Kamiya’s background also includes experience studying the mechanisms of diabetic complications at the National Eye Institute, National Institutes of Health from 1994 to 1996.  His continuous interest in research has expanded to collaboration with research facilities, including Harvard University, Penn State Medical Center and Emory University.
