In case you missed it, we recently announced that we are producing the natural product industry's first "virtual" trade show Sept 14-15. The Natural Products Marketplace Virtual Event is an all-online live event with exhibits, seminars, networking, show specials, etc. It is free for retailers to attend (and we already have a lot of retailers signed up), and it is a model that is proven to work.

Sen. John McCain's recent bill would gut DSHEA, put huge burdens on supplement marketers and retailers, and still not accomplish what the bill's purpose is said to be. I am going to Washington March 23 and hope to meet with him, or to meet with him here in Arizona with my local colleagues.

Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) introduced a bill today that would change the way dietary supplements are regulated, including requiring that companies register all products with the FDA, including all ingredients, that retailers obtain proof that their suppliers are in compliance with laws, and that manufacturers report all adverse events to FDA, not just serious adverse events as required by law now.
