FDA Watching Claims on Facebook
According to The Hill, FDA is cracking down on claims being made by drug companies on Facebook. The agency recently sent a letter to Novartis questioning its us of the "Share" application on Facebook. The agency objected to the presence of claims about benefits of the Novartis drug Tasigna that did not also include the side effect and risk information the drug makers must include in all marketing. Regulators are taking more interest in online marketing activities beyond a company's basic website.
