More than 225 members of the natural products industry raised nearly $250,000 for non-profit Vitamin Angels at a May 24 charity golf tournament sponsored by Nature's Value and The Vitamin Shoppe. This was the first such event, and there are already plans underway to do it again next year, on May 23.

Vitamin Angels provides vital nutrients to millions of undernourished children worldwide. Through its successful "Operation 20/20" program, Vitamin Angels has provided crucial vitamin A to more than 10 million children this year. Vitamin A deficiency affects and estimated 190 million children worldwide, and leads to blindness, infection due to weakened immunity, and often death. The money raised at the golf tournament will help one million children!

If you are not already familiar with the important work that Vitamin Angels does, please take a few minutes to learn more about them. It is easy to get involved, and the impact you can have is incredible. And thanks to Nature's Value and The Vitamin Shoppe for puttin this great event together. I hope to be a part of it next year.
