ILLERTISSEN, Germany— Cognis Nutrition & Health (Cognis.com) launched its new Super Xangold, an eye health ingredient with a 5 to 1 ratio of lutein esters and zeaxanthin esters. Xangold is extracted from marigold flowers grown specifically for Cognis and is available in two forms: oils for soft gel capsules and micro-encapsulated beadlets for tablets or functional food applications. Studies show that lutein from lutein esters has equivalent bioavailability, and may even be superior to that of free lutein. The Xangold product line offers non-GMO, kosher and vegetarian-source lutein esters for a variety of product applications.
