Ethical Naturals Releases Ginkgo QC Report

SAN ANSELMO, Calif.—Ethical Naturals developed a new report, “Ginkgo Biloba Extract: Brand QC Analytical Report,” based on independent analyses performed by Eurofins and with an extensive review from the American Herbal Pharmacopeia (AHP). According to Cal Bewicke, president of Ethical Naturals (www.ethicalnaturals.com), the company worked with a major manufacturer of Ginkgo biloba on the history and methods of ginkgo adulteration. Eurofins tested 22 ginkgo extracts, and AHP developed a report based on its Ginkgo Monograph and other sources, giving a “pass or fail” rating.

“The downside to this report is the extent and depth of the problem it revealed—how many products were affected,” Bewicke said. “The upside is that it identifies the problems and how they can be quite easily detected.”
