Nutrinova

SOMERSET, N.J.Nutrinova announced a collaboration with Swisscaps AG to develop softgels with DHActive, Nutrinovas vegetarian omega-3 PUFA (polyunsaturated fatty acid) oil with high levels of docosahexaenoic acid (DHA). The softgels are available in 250 mg and 500 mg sizes. The companies are also producing a 100-percent vegetarian DHA capsule combining Swisscaps VegaGel technology with Nutrinovas DHA, sourced from microalgae via a patented fermentation process.

Nutrinova also introduced DHActive CL, a transparent liquid form of DHActive. The new ingredient was developed specifically for dietary supplement formulations, allowing companies to offer clear capsules, which Nutrinova said have more consumer appeal.
