BELEN, N.M.--Süd-Chemie Performance Packaging announced improvements to its desiccant canister production plant, located here. The new capabilities allow canisters to be automatically weighed, data points collected and fill weights adjusted to correct for minute changes in weight trend. The new system also includes high-speed labeling. In addition, Süd-Chemie introduced its Customizable Desiccant Inserts for superior moisture protection. Desiccant inserts fit beneath the threads of the cap and absorb ambient moisture within containers to extend shelf life and ensure product integrity. Effervescent-PAK^™ is a rigid tube and stopper package with built-in moisture protection, also new from Süd-Chemie. Effervescent-PAK eliminates the need for inserting loose desiccant tablets and packets, while streamlining packaging workflow.
