Cargill’s Oliggo-Fiber™ OK for Canadian Market
06/04/2007
MINNEAPOLIS
—Health Canada issued a “no objection letter” for Cargill’s Oliggo-Fiber inulin product, approving the product for use as dietary fiber. The approval allows Canadian food manufacturers using the product to incorporate language such as “high source of fiber” on food packaging labels. “There is mounting scientific evidence demonstrating that Oliggo-Fiber inulin supports digestive health and calcium absorption,” said Steve Snyder, vice president, Cargill Health & Food Technologies (www.cargill.com). “This enables consumer packaged goods companies to incorporate increased amounts of fiber into products without affecting taste and texture.”
