Effect of MegaNatural BP Grape Seed Extract on Blood Pressure in Patients with Metabolic Syndrome

10/16/2006
MADERA, Calif.— Metabolic syndrome is diagnosed on the basis of the presence of three out of the following five factors: abdominal obesity, insulin resistance (impaired glucose tolerance), low serum HDL (high density lipoprotein) cholesterol, elevated serum triglycerides and elevated blood pressure. Approximately 40 percent of the U.S. adult population has this condition, and it is a risk factor for both coronary artery disease and Type 2 diabetes. A placebo controlled trial was undertaken in 24 subjects with the metabolic syndrome. Attend this session to learn about the results of the clinical trial from C. Tissa Kappagoda, Ph.D., professor of medicine, Division of Cardiovascular Medicine, University of California, Davis, and the director of the Preventive Cardiology Program, University of California, Davis Medical Center.

The VendorWorks presentation will be given Thursday, Oct. 19, from 1 to 1:50 p.m. at SupplySide West. For more information, visit www.polyphenolics.com or Booth #4025.
